The Scent
In this collection I wanted to capture the enchantment, mystery, revelations, growth and the beauty that comes from traveling to places we’ve never been. This doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to go somewhere, but it does help to push the boundaries of our comfort zone. Manami I is the first part of a three part story and it’s one that I’ve invited my inner child to tell.
The setting of the scent is a lush jungle. The plot revolves around the experience of walking through it while taking in the smells, sounds and colors. It’s a delicate balance between experiencing euphoria and having a stimuli overload. My inner child taught me that the secret to maintaining the equilibrium is in the act of taking in and letting go to make space for the next experience.
This scent does precisely that. It takes your hand through the flora. You feel the warmth of the sun and the humidity of the air on your skin. Eventually you arrive at the ocean. It’s a pristine sight and it comforts you with its simplicity. Within the juxtaposition of the earthy notes and the refreshing sea mist is where it leaves you. You’re then invited to exist in that moment for as long as you can, because after all, moments are fleeting.
